CCV Insurance responds with Jostle

When the now infamous Fort McMurray wildfire ignited in early May 2016 in Alberta, Canada, no one knew the extent of the devastation it would cause. Within a few short weeks, most of the city had to be displaced to safer ground, forcing the largest wildfire evacuation in Albertan history. It was during this trying time that the Ontario team at CCV Insurance (CCV) reached out and supported their colleagues located in Fort McMurray.

Though the team at CCV began using Jostle’s People Engagement^® platform about a year ago, they hadn’t used it in the specific capacity of internal crisis communications. Using the platform’s NEWS view, CCV employees across the company’s various locations were able to coordinate with their parent company, Rogers Insurance, to post updates, stories, and company-wide fundraising initiatives to help out and support fellow employees displaced by the fire.

“We started receiving tweets and updates from Rogers and decided to start making our own posts on the NEWS view using the same style. We did this so that the displaced Rogers employees could see and feel a company-wide connection,” explained Andrea Hadlington, Marketing Communications Coordinator at CCV’s Brampton branch.

Using the Jostle intranet EVENTS view, employees from CCV’s Brampton location were able to organize, announce, and put on a “stick together” fundraising campaign in solidarity with Fort McMurray staff. The fundraising effort, complete with burgers, raffle draws, popsicle sales, and various other activities, raised almost $2,000.

We’re both honoured and humbled that CCV has been able to nurture such genuine human connections throughout their company using our platform. We’re very proud to be helping CCV during this difficult time.
