Oden Release 🍢

Written by Vince Forrington | October 25, 2019

Released on 2019 Oct 27

What’s new

  • Improved platform-wide viewer
The pop-up viewer is a thing of the past! Our improved viewer (rolling out in this release to News, Events, and Classifieds) provides a more immersive experience and boasts a larger viewing area. This should be especially pleasing for all News Reporters, since it means videos no longer need to be resized before they're embedded in articles, notices, and listings.

As before, just click on any article or similar item to open it in the new viewer. To close the viewer, either click the X in the top left corner or tap your ESC key.

For content creators, the Edit link on their published content can now be found in the upper right corner of the new viewer.

  • Additional export/import support for Teams
Chart Admins can now export their Chart structures from Teams via .txt file. This option is great way to back up your org's Chart structures and can also be used to make minor edits and updates.

  • Filter settings in People
Your saved filter settings in the People view will now be retained across multiple browsers. NOTEthis update may cause an issue where your People view appears empty. To correct this, reset and then save your settings (via the filter icon in the upper right corner).

PLUS  68 other bug fixes and/or performance enhancements.

Did you know that oden has its own emoji? Or, let me back that up a bit more, do you even know what oden is? Because I sure didn't. I figured it was some type of foodsince our current run of emoji-themed release names have all been consumables, but at least I wasn't the only one in the dark.

One colleague in particular was a little dejected once he found out that the name of this release referred to a Japanese soup made with sliced (and sometimes skewered) chunks of meat, fish, eggs, and veggies, and wasn't meant as a shout-out to Thor's father, the almighty Norse god Odin. Who, come to think of it, was also notable for slicing and skewering (…his enemies).
