Expelliarmus, the disarming spell, is generally considered Harry Potter’s trademark spell, used in each of his duels with Voldemort, but did you know that it was Professor Snape who taught him the spell in his second year?
The spell makes its first appearance in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Snape uses it against Professor Lockhart in the Dueling Club. After that moment, it makes an appearance in every Harry Potter book after. But perhaps the most forgotten, but most important, casting of the spell was done by Draco Malfoy in book six. After all, it’s the disarming of Dumbledore that makes Draco (and then Harry) the master of the Elder Wand.
