Jostle Customer Resources

Comment-worthy

It’s happened to all of us at one time or another. You need to refer to something that was posted in a Discussion, but can’t quite remember where or even when it was posted. So you click on that magnifying glass icon to go to Search, enter your keywords, and success! It pulls up a match for a Discussion containing a Comment where your keyword appears. You click on the match and it takes you to… the most recently posted Comment in that Discussion. In a Discussion that has hundreds of previous posts. Now you have to scroll and skim over all those Comments. Every. Single. One. Until you (hopefully) notice the one containing your keyword.

This needle-in-a-haystack approach is hardly helpful and can be quite discouraging. So, it’s with great pleasure that I announce the latest change to Search: Comment-specific Search results!

Yes, Search will now dive deeper and pull up results that link to matching individual Comments instead of to just the Discussions where they appear. Click on a matching Comment and its Discussion will open with that Comment already in view and highlighted with a bold border.

And to make this even extra-super special, you can also get a direct link to that Comment from its action menu (the "three dots" icon in the upper right corner), which you can share with anyone already included in the Discussion (or if you just want to keep it for your own reference).

Searchable Comments! Saveable Comments! It’s a Comment-palooza at Jostle!
